Good Day/Night to all in Dinar/GCR Land!

It's been almost a year since I wrote an op-ed commentary on August 8th of last year that appeared here at Dinar Recaps.

At that time (as has been the case on more than a few occasions since then), many of us believed that the RV / GCR might be just around the corner in the "Light of Day"(a great song covered famously by Bruce Springsteen live), or "right upon us" or "imminent" or any one of a number of other scenarios that might fit the narrative that we so sorely and dearly wanted and desired.

Also, I postulated that a debate was raging as to whether this was a "Micro Event" (dictated by Iraq) or a "Macro Event" (driven by the GCR). It seemed that since chapter 7 had been lifted that the RV might actually finally happen and that the blessing had finally arrived. Wow, were MANY of us wrong!?

    [millionday] NEW YORK and BAGHDAD, Iraq, June 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The NASDAQ OMX Group (Nasdaq:NDAQ) has entered an agreement with the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) to upgrade its current trading platform. Under the terms of the agreement, ISX will replace its existing NASDAQ OMX platform (Horizon) with one powered by the renowned X-stream technology.

The upgrade is expected to be rolled out by mid-year 2014. "We are committed to becoming one of the most innovative and groundbreaking exchanges, in the Middle East and across the world," said Taha A. Abdulsalam, CEO, Iraq Stock Exchange.

Iraqi Government has announced that Tuesday 1 Jul 2014 will be a public holiday in baghdad , ISX will not hold trading session on Tuesday 1 Jul 2014

A330 busdriver: This is only my take , but if July 1st is a holiday in Iraq and the ISX is closed, that would give Iraq a whole day to revalue the IQD (IQN) without fear of investors making a killing in the ISX.

Hopefully it starts tonight and is completed by the time we wake up in the morning. I know, pie in the sky, but it is one explanation.

Mally: thanks tlar!! Just curious why you think it will be 3-7 days after the government formation for the cbi to act? I was under the impression before that you thought it would be almost instant.

I apologize if I misunderstood and I realize this sitution is fluid and events or intel may of changed your opinion. Thanks again for sharing what you are hearing and I understand if you cant or dont want to elaborate on a possible timeline

First of all Okie wants everyone to know how much he appreciates all the love and prayers. However, he needs for people to stop calling.

From the time he goes to the hospital in the morning until he gets home, the phone calls continue to come in and his answering machine is full of messages when he gets back.

It holds 100 messages. It is exhausting to listen to all the messages, and he cannot return the calls.

He is in a position he cannot shut the phone off as he may be getting an emergency call that he does not want. Last night, the phone continued to ring until after midnight.

WE FEEL THEY HAVE TO HAVE THE ISX OFFICE ONLINE GLOBALLY AND TESTED BY THE WORLD BANK AND IMF AND THEN THEY WILL ISSUE A RATE.

I STILL BELIEVE THERE WILL BE NO FLOAT IT WILL BE A FLAT RATE AS THE CBI HAS SAID MANY TIMES. THE RATE I STILL BELIEVE WILL BE 3 DOLLARS PLUS.
