Midway Avenues Newsletter January 5, 2016

The Year Ahead
As we begin 2016, we can take time to look at both the past year and what has brought us to where we are as we look at what's in store next.

The Midway neighborhood is going to look a lot different- and sooner than we think. With the new year, comes the newly redeveloped YMCA. Many of you drive by the Y daily along University and have been able to observe the progress. If you haven't had a chance to see it from the inside yet, there are a few opportunities. Look for information coming soon on open houses and the ribbon cutting. Cheers to David Dominick and the entire staff at the Y for all their hard work.

In the spring or summer we will have the Twin Cities' first bus-rapid transit line going right through Midway on Snelling Avenue. The A-Line will start at Rosedale, and work its way south to Ford Parkway, where it will head into Minneapolis and end at 46th and Hiawatha- connecting the Blue Line and Green Line. To learn more about the A-Line, click here to visit the Metro Transit website.

One year ago, could anyone have anticipated the Midway would be getting an MLS stadium? No doubt, the stadium and the surrounding redevelopment will dramatically change the way Snelling/University looks and operates. There is still time to get your voice heard on what you think redevelopment will look like. Do not be afraid to share your opinions.

There will also be many other new and exciting opportunities we are not aware of yet. Enjoy the new year and always keep in mind how the Midway Chamber can help you.
