Our Herstory series continues with member Georgia Larson speaking on "
These 60's -- Reflections and Realities". The dynamic Ms. Larson is the current site manager at New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department's 50+ Employment Connection program.
Georgia is a primary example of using volunteer work to get trained and find employment. She started out as a volunteer with 50+ five years ago, became staff after two years, and was promoted to director last year.

Congratulations to...
Santa Fe TTN
on its second birthday as part of the national organization. Santa Fe TTN will celebrate our second birthday on the
afternoon of Sunday, April 6 at the Santa Fe Woman's Club with a public celebration.
Barbara Beizer, the current National TTN Board Director will be here to help us celebrate and offer a transition workshop with Jean Palmer beforehand. Members will be invited to dinner with Barbara as well. Details will follow soon in a separate e-mail.

for being elected to the National TTN board. Jean is the founder of the Santa Fe TTN Chapter and served as coordinator until December 2013. She remains on the chapter Steering Committee as Membership Coordinator.

Santa Fe Community College
for receiving a 2-year $165,200 grant from AARP targeting unemployed and underemployed women age 50+ with retraining, scholarships and job search.

TRANSITION PEER GROUP ORIENTATION |
Our semi-annual orientation session for members interested in becoming a part of a transition peer group will be offered again in April.
Transition Peer Groups differ from our social peer groups. Peer Groups meet regularly to discuss a pre-selected topic in a safe, confidential setting to encourage members to speak freely and listen with an open mind.
