Ever wondered what the hell compasses point at or why? Well, if so, it’s time to stop wondering and start wandering with this starter navigation course that tells you all you need to know to start your own safe exploration as well as tips and techniques on staying safe in the hills.

This short two evening course will tell you all you need to know about basic navigation, feature recognition, route selection, map reading, preparing a route card, grid references, working with map scales, identifying hazards, simple compass use and straight forward steps to enable you to de-mystify navigation so you can start planning your first forays into our beautiful uplands knowing that you will be able to get back!
