The People's Climate March is in 6 Days !
Good Morning All,
In 6 days thousands of people from around the country will be gathering in NYC to march and let our world leaders know that we are watching and that we expect them to develop new protocols that pushes for critical reductions in the use of global warming pollutants.
March Logistics - When, Where, How
Faith Group Gathering Place

The Interfaith Contingent will assemble on 58th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue on the day of the March. Please do NOT go to Columbus Circle - come to 58th Street instead.

This block will be our pre-March home, our place of prayer, and the starting point for our day's journey. May it be blessed! And - the block will hold at least 10,000 of us, so let's pack it full.

Pre- March Interfaith Service
The Pre-March Interfaith Service will be in the  "Interfaith Staging Area" on 58th street between 8th & 9th Avenue. You must enter the area from 9th Avenue, the 8th Avenue side of the street will be closed.  The service starts at 11:00 am.
Step Off Time & Route
Step off time for the march is at 11:30 am, but the interfaith groups will not be in the vanguard. We will be among the last of the groups to march so we'll be  walking sometime between 12:30 and 1:30. It's hard to tell how quickly things will move so we want to be ready to go at 12:30.

If you can't walk the entire route it will be possible to enter the march mid-way at 42nd and 6th Avenue but we can't promise that you will be able connect with the HRP delegation.
Train into NYC
A group of marchers will be leaving from White Plains on Sunday morning. We will gather in the parking lot at White Plains Presbyterian starting at 8:15am. We leave the Church at 8:30am to walk over to the train station. We'll be taking the 9:05 am train to Grand Central. It arrives at Grand Central at 9:43.  We will wait at the Clock in Grand Central until 10:00 am, to meet any others that would like to go with us over to the interfaith service on 58th Street.
Not Marching ? You Can Still Participate

On Sunday, September 21, faith and spiritual communites will make a Global Climate Chorus at 1:00 pm in their own time zone. They will be invited to ring their bells, sound a shofar, offer a public call to prayer, ring a meditation gong, bell, chant a mantra, or conduct an outdoors walking prayer/meditation, creating a global chorus of outdoor prayers for the climate around the world.

Visit http:/ourvoices.net/climate-chorus.html to sign up your faith community for the Global Climate Chorus on Sept. 21.

How to Get There
Because of the expected crowd (and the expected security), you will want to plan to arrive around 5:00 or even earlier. The C subway line has a stop at 34th Street, and will take you to 110th Street and Central Park West - a few blocks from the Cathedral.
What to Bring ( or Not Bring)
Bring some light food and drinks (refillable water bottles are encouraged - please no disposable water bottles!).
However, travel as light as you possibly can. Do not bring a backpack or large bag of any kind if you can possibly avoid it - not only would that weigh you down, it would also draw the attention of the police, who might want to search the bag.

Do not bring bullhorns; however, unamplified musical instruments are encouraged.

It will probably take at least 2 hours to get from Columbus Circle to the end of the route - so wear comfortable shoes.

Check the forecast and dress appropriately. If it's going to be a sunny day, bring sun-screen.

Bring a garbage bag to pick up litter along the way!
