WHL took over operation of the Hanford 222-S Laboratory in November of 2015. 222-S is a category 3 nuclear facility operated by WHL under a $44.6 million prime contract for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of River Protection, ORP. Test America (TA) is WHL's strategic key subcontractor linking the 222-S laboratory to the largest system of environmental laboratories in the country.
WHL provides radiological laboratory services including receiving, handling, analyzing, and storing lab samples from Hanford's underground tanks, typically consisting of highly radioactive or hazardous materials in gas, liquid, semi-solid or solid matrix form.
WHL performs special tests; and reporting results of inorganic, organic and radiochemical analysis to the site contractors of the US DOE.
The 222-S laboratory is a successful DOE VPP site for the DOE and has an exceptional safety record.
WAI Stoller Disposal Operations - WSDO
Wastren Advantqage Inc, is the managing partner of the WSDO Team comprised of Wastren Advantage, Inc. (WAI) and Stoller Newport News Nuclear, Inc. (SN3). WSDO has been managing the Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility (ERDF) disposal operations since 2013.
WSDO operates, the 107-acre ERDF area on the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site through a subcontract with Washington Closure Hanford (WCH). Under this contract, WSDO provides WCH's environmental cleanup projects with waste placement, compaction, and treatment as well as maintaining ERDF facility buildings and equipment provided by WCH.
The ERDF site is a successful U.S. DOE VPP site for the WCH/DOE and has an exceptional safety record.
