Back it up baby! Watch this tip to reduce structural compensations
Back it up baby! Watch this tip to reduce structural compensations

Greetings from New York.

It has been a cold and long winter here and that means many of us have been a little sedentary (I'm personally not an outdoor winter gal). We are so close to Spring weather and I really look forward to more walking, more moving, and more play outdoors with the fam.

How we use our bodies on a daily basis will absolutely affect the health of our joints, muscles, and bones. We need those parts to be working well in order to be pain-free. Warm weather is the perfect excuse to get out, move more, and move well.

Body factoid:we are so used to how our bodies feel that most of us don't even realize that we are standing with our bodies completely out of alignment, so that every time we stand, walk and sit- we are wearing and tearing. Not cool. It is time to ramp up the awareness.

This month I will share with you a tip that has helped many people reduce the stress on their muscles, bones and joints. It is SO easy - check it out yourself and don't forget to pass it on to loved ones who can really benefit.

Next week a group of Brooklyn peeps who are ready NOW for long-lasting body changes are beginning my unique step-by-step 8-weeks to Realign, Rebalance and Restore course. I look forward to updating you on their progress and break throughs.

I would love to hear from you on youtube, on FB or in a personal note. Tell me how this tip feels in your body, what you think, and what you want more of.

Organic Shea Body Butter - you almost want to eat it

Body butter? YES please. this sh*t is easy and so freaking luxurious.

What gets this whipped consistency is that it is part solid and part liquid. Coconut oil is a solid that melts in warm weather - so if you change the recipe to use other oils- do not replace coco oil for a LIQUID! It will not work.

1 cup organic raw shea butter (this is a solid) (bought mine on amazon)
1/2 cup coconut oil (another solid)
1/2 cup almond oil (liquid)- substitute any carrier oil
Essential oil of your choice. Lavender anyone?

1. Melt shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler or pot in pot scenario. When it is melted, remove and let cool for about 20-30 minutes.

2. Stir in almond oil and essential oils (i do a whole lot of drops but also love the natural smell of shea)

3, Place oil mixture in freezer to chill

4. Check on it every 5-10 minutes and when it starts to partially solidify, remove and whip until it begins to look like whipped cream!

4. Place in clean, glass jar and have a party

Tip: It might not whip up in the first go so if you've been whipping for a while and it is not like whipped cream- put it back in the freezer - but not for too long- and then whip again. If you follow these instructions, you will get the amazing consistency of whipped cream.
