Mental Health Resources
We are here to help you deal with the stress of exam period. Good2Talk is a 24/7 confidential personal counseling helpline available to students (1-866-925-5454). You can also visit King's personal counselling services and Western's Health and Wellness page for more resources.
24/7 King Centre
The King Centre is open 24/7 until April 30th. Cardinal Carter Library is open from 8 a.m. - 12 midnight until April 29th, and 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. on April 30th. Please visit our website for policies, as well as hours for Tim Hortons and Thames Market during exams.
Did you know King's offers taxi chits?
A free taxi service is available between King's, Western and Brescia (limit $11). Chits are available at the Library Circulation Desk between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, and through campus security from midnight to 8 a.m. Western Foot Patrol (519-661-3650) provides a co-ed escort from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. daily and will walk with you to your car, bus stop, or other buildings on King's and main campus, and some off-campus locations. If you're studying at main campus, USC offers a free shuttle bus service from 12:30 a.m. - 3 a.m. until April 19th, and 12:30 a.m. - 2:30 a.m. from April 20th - 29th. Social Work group goes to China!
A group of King's social work students and faculty began their experiential learning trip this past weekend for a two-week exchange at the South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou, China. Family members and close friends came to show their support. Safe travels!

Access Copyright Rebate 2013-14: Form due April 30th
In light of the recent changes in the agreement between Western University Canada and Access Copyright effective December 2013, the Access Copyright fees (Cancopy) charged to students have been reduced for the 2013-2014 academic year.
The changes are outlined below:
- The Access Copyright fee for full-time students has been reduced to $12.19 from $24.39
- The Access Copyright fee for part-time students (enrolled in 1.00) has been reduced to $2.44 from $4.88. If you are a part-time student enrolled in more or less than 1.00 courses, please multiple or divide this number accordingly.
The changes outlined above may result in a credit balance on your tuition account. Please find the Access Copyright Rebate Form online. Should you wish to receive a refund, you must print and complete this form and submit it to Student Financial Services no later than April 30th, 2014. Please be advised that credits for those students who complete the form will not be processed until after April 30th.
By default, if Student Financial Services does not receive your request by April 30th, this amount will be donated to the King's University College Student Council for their directives. If you have any questions, please contact Student Financial Services at 519-433-3491 ext. 4319.

The Undergraduate Awards
The Undergraduate Awards is the world's only pan-discipline academic awards program that identifies leading creative thinkers through their undergraduate coursework. Winner receive an all-expenses paid trip to Dublin, Ireland for the UA Global Summit in November, 2014 and will have their work published in the Undergraduate Journal, which is circulated internationally.
Students who are in their final year, or second-to-last year, of an undergraduate degree program are eligible to apply. There are 25 categories to choose from, ranging from science to arts and humanities, to social science and professional program topics. Please register at www.undergraduateawards.com and submit your coursework to Western International by 11:59 p.m. on May 5, 2014 via email to [email protected]. Once received, Western International will match students with faculty mentors to polish and prepare their submission. Once polished, students will submit their papers independently by the June 2nd deadline.
There is no fee to register or enter your work. Students may enter up to three individual submissions.

Development Day is an all day event that will give you the opportunity to hear from industry leaders on topics such as leadership, networking, career & personal development coaching, entrepreneurship and social media strategies. Students receive a special student rate of $50.

English 3998E: Creative Writing Workshop
Open to King's students from all programs. Students will write creatively in different genres (fiction, poetry, drama and creative non-fiction), and reflect critically on their own work and the work of their peers. Limited to 20 students chosen by the instructors based on samples of creative work.
To enroll this Fall, submit 4-8 pages of your writing in any genre to the Faculty Secretaries' Office (DL 210) by May 30th. Address the package to Prof. Therese Khimasia, and mark it "Sample for Creative Writing Application." Include your student number, email and mailing addresses, and telephone number, so we can contact you if your application is successful.
