What is Happening at the nbmtLINK
"Peer Support On-Call" is a free service offered by the National Bone Marrow Transplant Link.
Emotional support is available through one-on-one telephone conversations with trained peer support volunteers who are bone marrow/stem cell transplant (BMT) survivors, caregivers and donors. Since they have been through the BMT experience themselves, they understand the patient's and caregiver's feelings and can provide an empathetic point of view. For BMT patients and caregivers, peer support is only a phone call away.
If you would lke to request a phone call from a peer support volunteer, please call our office at 800-LINK-BMT (800-546-5268).

Myra Jacobs, M.A., Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant Patient Advocate Trailblazer, Enjoying Retirement.
As many of you may already know, Myra Jacobs, the Founding Executive Director of the nbmtLINK, retired in March of this year. We certainly miss Myra on a daily basis. We are happy to report she is enjoying retirement immensely.

nbmtLINK is Growing and Changing
This year we welcomed two new interns, Hannah Broderick and Shelby Green. We also added Cindy Burke to our staff, helping us with Finances, Marketing and Customer Relations. Barbara Saltz retired this fall and we miss Barb's smiling face. Jen Barish, BMT survivor and LINK volunteer, continues to guide us financially and support us continuously.
Our New Executive Director at nbmtLNK
Peggy Burkhard joined us as the new Executive Director in February, replacing Myra Jacobs. "We're very pleased to announce this appointment," reported Dr. Flora Hoodin, Chair of the Board ofDirectors. "Peggy brings leadership and creativity to the LINK's programs and a deep sense of commitment. Her expertise has been built serving many nonprofits throughout her career."

At this time of year, we are so thankful to our readers. Without your support we would not be able to fulfill our mission.
