FEEDBACK:
What have we done to the Christmas story?
Christians love to hear and tell the traditional Christmas story. The birth of Jesus includes Mary and Joseph seeking shelter on a winter night, no room in the inn, a baby born in a stable, and angels visiting lowly shepherds nearby.

But does our modern telling of the account from Luke 2:1-20 embrace critical flaws?

Catch the Bott Radio interview on same-sex attraction
I recently had the privilege of appearing on "Encounter," a radio program hosted by Harold Hendrick on the Bott Radio Network. The topic: What every Christian should know about same-sex attraction.

What is Buddhism?
With about 365 million followers (920,000 in the United States), Buddhism is the fourth largest religion in the world (after Christianity, Islam and Hinduism).

Buddhism was founded in northern India by the first known Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, a prince who lived about 563-483 B.C.

Who are Buddhists? And what do they believe?

Conversation with a gay friend
Many who struggle with same-sex attraction seem to think Christians hate them. Perhaps some do, in defiance of Jesus, who was soft on people and hard on sin. Following Christ's example is challenging when the people we are called to love cast us as bigots, hatemongers, and hypocrites for opposing their conduct.

The apostle Peter urges us to always be ready to give a defense of our faith "with gentleness and respect" (1 Peter 3:15-16). So perhaps this is a good time to rehearse a hypothetical conversation with a gay friend.
