VITA Team Assists 5,100+ This Tax Season!
Our Volunteers Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Team provided tax assistance to more than 5,100 clients and brought $5.65 million in refunds to communities across Broward County. Congratulations to our VITA Volunteer of the Year Percival Samms (in photo to the left), who served as the Volunteer Greeter at our main and largest VITA site in Hollywood and dedicated over 270 hours to the program in 2014. MasTec Job Fair Assists More Than 200
More than 200 job seekers and companies hiring for various positions attended our April job fair, presented by MasTec. The event provided job seekers with the opportunity to meet and interview with company representatives. A special thank you to MasTec, Mission United, CBS, Home Depot, Barnett Management, Randstad, Waffle House, Xpand Staffing and Hospitality Staffing Solutions.

Frank and Cheryl Goldstein were introduced to HUF by their friend, Elizabeth Sanjuan. They were invited to attend events, but never went because, as Cheryl says, "We weren't Hispanic. We didn't think we would have a connection." When their personal trainer lost his four-year-old son in a house fire the Goldstein's started a grassroots campaign to garner support. They said HUF was the only organization to respond. Click here to read more about their story.
