Thousands to attend "most important pro-life event"
in DFW this Saturday

DALLAS, APRIL 1, 2014 -- This Saturday, April 5, Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell will host nearly 2,000 guests at The Bishop's 21st Annual Catholic Pro-Life Dinner, featuring multi-platinum, 10-time Male Vocalist of the Year nominee Collin Raye.  The event, heralded as the "most important pro-life event" in DFW by international pro-life leader David Bereit, will benefit the nine life-saving ministries of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee, the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas.

The Bishop's  21st Annual Catholic Pro-Dinner: Open Your Hearts to Life!
April 5, 2014
Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas
5:00 pm  Silent Auction and Pro-Life Exhibits
6:30 pm  Seated Dinner, Live Auction and Program

The featured program will include a musical performance and the personal story of Collin Raye, inspired to speak out for the dignity of the human person after the loss of his precious 10-year-old grandchild.  "As a fan of Collin's music and his message, I am personally thrilled that he will be joining us this Saturday to celebrate over two decades of saving lives in Dallas -- and particularly following the historic legislative victories that have been won in Texas," said Karen Garnett, Executive Director of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee.

The theme of this year's dinner -- "Open Your Hearts to Life" -- is drawn from the words of Pope Francis which were adopted by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as the theme of Respect Life Month.  As the Bishops explain, the Pope's call to open our hearts to the love of Christ recognizes that although we are capable of great evil against one other, we are not beyond Christ's mercy.  "This year's theme reflects our ministry's approach to the tragedy of abortion -- meeting the woman wherever she is with love, whether it's outside the abortion center, at the pregnancy resource center, or after she's had an abortion.  We are here offering a path to life, love and healing," added Garnett.
