Community Farm Day

Annual Summer Solstice Celebration
Saturday, June 21st 12:00 pm - Dark
Every year our Summer Solstice Celebration is a wonderful expression of community celebrating the nourishing connection with the land and each other. We look forward to welcoming all members and friends to the Farm on Saturday the 21st starting at 12:00 PM, to kick-off the Summer season. This year's Solstice Celebration will focus mostly on self-guided u-pick activities to enjoy the ripening strawberries, raspberries, and apricots. It's a great way to directly engage with the bounty and the farm environment the crops grow in. We will open the farm starting at 12 o'clock for U-picks, and start with the more festive portion of the celebration at 5:00 PM.

"Food What?!" - Welcome Back
You will notice green beans and red raspberries in your shares this week. Both are popular crops, but time consuming to pick. With apricots also ripening and ready to be added to the harvest schedule, you can imagine how excited we are to welcome back 25 youths from the "Food What?!" program to give us a helping hand. What I like about this partnership is that teens are empowered to directly engage in the operation of a real working farm, where they have the opportunity to work side by side with our employees, experiencing literally from the ground up the fruits of their labor. And, I like the name "Food What?!", it reflects what is at the core of our well-being - understanding our connection to healthy food and where it comes from.

Summer Camps at Live Earth Farm
Live Earth Farm Discovery Program Summer Camps offer a unique opportunity to engage with the food the Farm grows. Camps are in depth field-to-fork experiences, each lasting a whole week. Campers get their hands dirty exploring pieces of the Farm's 150 acres, learning about life as an organic vegetable farmer, and discovering the benefits of humane livestock management by assisting with the daily chores caring for our goats and chickens. All of the summer camps include a Leader in Training program for teens. Scholarships are available. Learn more on our web site
