A Message from Religious School Principal, Lois Tompkins

We are down to crunch time for our
Mitzvah Day on Sunday, December 13!  If you haven't already RSVPed by filling out the permission form (even if you are not planning to send your child to school that day - we need to know!), please be sure to get it back to us no later than next Sunday. We need drivers, parents to accompany us on the bus and at the sites, and facilitators.  It is very important that we have an accurate number of participants so that we can plan for each separate group project.  The form can be found under "Upcoming Events" above.
K and 1st grade: will be singing Hanukkah songs at River Garden with Hazzan Holzer
2nd and 3rd grade: will be visiting FANN (JFCS food bank) to learn about feeding the                poor.  P lease help us by donating some items for them to bring.
4th an 5th grade: will be visiting the residents at River Garden, bringing them gifts and             cards that they made in class.
6th and 7th grade: will visit our teacher and friend, Joni Shmunes, at her home.

Most of our mitzvot will be taking place between 9:45 - 11:00.  Specific times will be sent out next week; they will depend on the information that we receive from our permission slips.
NOTE: I will provide coffee and noshes for any parent who wishes to come at 9:00 with their child and stay until it is time to leave for our mitzvah destination!

Hanukkah begins at sundown this Sunday!  Please make plans to join our congregational family on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 pm (right after Religious School) for the JJC ANNUAL HANUKKAH DINNER and celebrate Hanukkah together.  We'll have latkes, brisket sliders, desserts and dreidels!   More information can be found below.  Make your RSVPs TODAY by clicking on the link in the flyer (it's not to late)!!!

Chag Sameach,
Lois

Snacks for Sale!
Support Laura's mitzvah project benefiting
Dreams Come True, an organization that grants wishes for children (and their families) with life-threatening illnesses

Laura will be selling snacks during  Haftzakah (break) on Sunday (12/6) and again during dinner break on Wednesday(12/9).  All profits will benefit the Dreams Come True program!

We will also have our regular bagels/cream cheese available for purchase, and snacks as usual for students who don't bring money, but we encourage everyone to take part in this fundraiser for a very good cause.
