California Department of Insurance Fraud Division Update |
Bureau Chief Laureen Pedroza will be providing an update regarding the California Department of Insurance (CDI), Fraud Division. This presentation will provide insight regarding the latest goals and objectives of the Division under the new CDI Enforcement Branch Deputy Commissioner, George Mueller. Ms. Pedroza will also provide an overview of some recent high-profile investigations and subsequent press releases that have been announced by CDI. It is important that SIU, claims, attorneys, private investigators, allied law enforcement, and other industry representatives understand the challenges faced by the anti-fraud community and what role
the CDI plays in identifying, reporting, and investigating suspected fraud.
Bureau Chief Pedroza has more than 25 years of California Law Enforcement experience. Currently, Ms. Pedroza is the state-wide program manager for two fraud programs, Workers' Compensation Insurance Fraud and Disability / Health Care Fraud. She also manages the operations of the four northern California CDI regional offices. Ms. Pedroza will be sworn in as a new NCFIA/AFA board member in 2016.
