"Broadband has steadily shifted from an optional amenity to a core utility for households, businesses and community institutions.
Today, broadband is taking its place alongside water, sewer and electricity as essential infrastructure for communities." -
White House Broadband Opportunity Council March 2015
Remember dial-up internet? The early days when if you could get online it was a miracle and even then you would wait hours for files to download? While the world has moved to accessing the web at hyper speed - rural areas, including much of Montgomery County's Ag Reserve, still have slow and spotty internet service. Imagine running a farm business with unreliable phone service like back in the 80s and you'll get an idea of the impact slow or non-existent internet has on these local entrepreneurs.
That's why MCA is undertaking a "Connect Montgomery" campaign and we could use your help- please take this 5 minute survey about your internet service. Getting a better handle on the challenges posed by poor connectivity will help us advocate for better service.
MCA has been providing award winning service to Montgomery County for 15 years. Having a local organization to tackle problems close to home requires the support of local folks. In this season of giving- we hope you'll do your part and become a new or returning member of MCA with your tax deductible gift.
Thank You!
With appreciation,
Caroline Taylor
