Choosing a Business Name

"There's plenty of advice out there about choosing a business name, such as the need to do a name search in your state, a trademark search, register the name, and other key legal issues. Those are all important factors to consider as you choose a business name.
But I'd like to focus today on five considerations you should also be thinking about. These five things may be overlooked when choosing a business name (or thinking about a re-branding of your business) . . . "
Did you know there are three layers of decision makers in government contracting? These include the small business representatives, contracting officers, and program managers. Small businesses should meet with the small business representative first. The next level includes the contracting officers. These are the individuals who make the purchasing decisions and award the contracts.The contracting officers will mostly be concerned with past performance and the contracting vehicles used. The final level includes the program managers, who care most about the technical abilities of the contractor.
Prior to contact, know what the agency buys as well as their small business goals. At each step, have the appropriate information ready and acquaint yourself with the agency representative and program.
