"It's Christmasssssss" as only Noddy Holder can say in his own indomitable way......
Of course a
caterer is for life and not just for Christmas, so e
ven though the big man in red is still 24 days away we are busy putting together Weddings, Private Parties and Corporate events for next year and our thoughts are as much on Summer Soirées as they are Mince Pies, most strange!
Never let it be said that we don't embrace the festive spirit though! This year we have asked our wonderful chefs to create some simple canapé recipes suitable for
those with lesser skills than their own and they have done a wonderful job. Read on to find out more about our "12 Canapés of Christmas"!
I am also very excited to announce our new VIP wine list, which is
available on request. We have so many exciting wines that 'drink' outside the box (tee hee), please don't hesitate to ask!
I cannot believe it was November yesterday? It seems longer!
What a marathon of a month it was for us.....
I have just returned from another phenomenal trip to Italy with Filippo Berio. An experience like that simply has to be shared and you can read all about my adventures
later in this newsletter.
The trip was the 'icing on the cake' at the end of a truly outstanding month which started with us catering
the launch night after-party of the West End musical Elf at Hamleys on Regent Street
for 1,000 VIP guests.

heels of Elf we helped one of our corporate clients through
their office move by providing all day catering - and even a Mrs Miggins with Tea Trolley & with pink wafer biscuits
in the
afternoon just for fun (the show did go on)!
We then had the pleasure of entertaining the good ladies of the East Dulwich Women's Institute who came along to our professional kitchen for a canapé demonstration.
It was a really excellent evening, and wonderful to meet so many new local friends.
Interspersed with all this were a host of
winter dinners, wonderful rich flavours, vibrant colours and candlelight enhancing the atmosphere of some of our most historic venues - Fitzroy Square and the Museum of the Order of St John amongst them, I adore the dark evenings for this style of event, the atmosphere is simply magical......as
were our own wonderful East Dulwich Supper Club evenings, held in association with Filippo Berio. Both nights were fully booked, canapés and 4 course extravaganzas which ensured our guests left happy, well fed, and in possession of the most amazing goodie bags. We have had some lovely feedback - thank you.
Last but by no means least, as the month came to a close we catered a canapé and drinks reception for 200 in the dramatic, glass roofed, Neptune Court, Royal Museum's Greenwich most modern event space.
So, i
t really has been a month of extremes. From the traditional to the modern, no matter where we work, our team delivers the same amazing service upon which our reputation is based
.
From Canapes to Cook & Collect, Stalls to Street Food, Posh Dinners to Pie & Mash, with guest numbers ranging from 2 to 1,000, we really have done it all over the past month.

Paul Davies
It may say Suzanne James above the door,
and on the vans, and on the branding, but when you speak to the lady herself, much as she would love to take all the credit, she will also go to great pains to tell you about her business partner Graham Tooke, and the amazing team behind each and every event.

Last month Suzanne was invited to Tuscany again to visit the Filippo Berio Factory.
The trip included a fascinating and very educational Olive Oil tasting and a tour of the factory, allowing her the opportunity to see the production process up close and personal.

East Dulwich Christmas Cracker!
Don't miss all the action this Saturday, 5th December!
The East Dulwich Christmas Cracker has quickly become one of the highlights of the year in SE22!
Suzanne will be in attendance as one of the judges in the Mince Pie Bake Off competition, which will not an easy task, but thankfully she has the help of the Mayo
r of Southwark, plus two artisan bakers and two food writers, to assist with the judging (phew!!).
The winners of all three categories; Best
Traditional Mince Pie, Best Alternative Mince Pi
e & Children's Bakes will
be announced on the stage in Northcross Road at 4.15pm.

roaming entertainers, a
festive market, t

Keep it Local
We are proud of our status as not just a sustainable, but also an ethical caterer.
Wherever possible we use small, independent businesses much like ourselves and believe it is vitally important to support one another, especially in the current economy.
This month we would like to introduce you to David Holton of Blackwoods Cheese Company, based in Brockley.
Dave is a wonderful cheesemaker, and
custard fan so it transpires!
