Love your neighbor as yourself
SERVANT to SERVANT                          10-9-15
The Midwest Pastors' Conference was held October 6-8, 2015 at the Cenacle Sisters Retreat Center in Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. The main presenter was Dr. Justin Rossow who led us through a workshop on retooling our preaching. We examined methods of development, the way people typically think, and the way metaphors work with the way we think. Dr. Rossow challenged us to understand how people are thinking and how to use primary Biblical metaphors to target people where they are. The goal is to find new ways of communicating the same truth over time.

On Wednesday, October 7th Mark Schoepp, from Wheat Ridge Ministries, gave a presentation. His synopsis focused on the brain and the way nutrition, exercise and play effect our ability to think.

We, also, had an opportunity to hear from Bishop Jamison J. Hardy regarding his triennium theme, "Love Your Neighbor As Yourself" which emphasizes the importance of brotherhood.

Beyond the presentations we had excellent worship in the very beautiful chapels at the facility and enjoyed the attractions, restaurants and nightlife in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
