Congratulations Kevin

Meet Kevin, one of the clients in our Residential Program. Kevin has been working hard to earn any type of employment. He has visited job fairs, completed numerous applications and interviewed at a number of places. He has worked with staff to brush up on employment skills and the best way to present himself to a potential employer.

We are happy to share that Kevin was recently offered a job at Cardinal Ritter! Kevin is very excited and we are proud of him.

Children Enjoy Summer Adventure

Summer is a time for kids to explore, to experience, to sing, to play and to laugh. It's a time for renewal, a time to make new friends and a time to create lifelong memories. This is the idea behind "Summer Adventure" in our Family Residential Program. Summer Adventure is an opportunity for children that reside on property to come together, three times a week, for structured fun. Parents are encouraged to participate by helping with crafts, assisting in caring for the children and joining in the fun themselves. Program staff are joined by our intern from Fontbonne University as well as a tutor from Washington University. For more pictures click here.

National HIV Testing Day - June 27

National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign to encourage people of all ages to "Take the Test, Take Control." Too many people don't know they have HIV. In the United States, nearly 1.1 million people are living with HIV, and almost one in five don't know they are infected.

Schedule your test with St. Louis Effort for AIDS, a partner ASO. Their services are free and confidential. You just need to make an appointment and they'll take it from there. They take appointments Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4 pm at their office in the Grove. On Mondays and Wednesdays they take walk-ins (no appointment needed).

Fundraiser to Benefit Doorways

The Normal Heart, presented by HotCity Theatre, focus on the rise of HIV/AIDS in NYC between 1981 and 1984, as seen through the eyes of writer/activist Ned Weeks.

The film adaptation debuted on HBO in May of this year.

DOORWAYS is an interfaith non-profit organization which provides housing and related supportive services to improve quality of life and health outcomes for people affected by HIV/AIDS.
