Tee It Forward!

As they say, "the mind may be willing but sometimes the body..." well you know the rest. To enjoy the game more, try playing the forward tees. The PGA of America encourages and promotes playing the forward tees as a means of enjoying the game and improving the pace of play.

Recently, Jack Nicklaus has been a big supporter of the "Tee it Forward" initiative and has done public service announcements endorsing this.  Locally, one of our members, Morty Spitzer has related that he enjoys playing the forward tees since it gives him a better chance of reaching greens in regulation and making pars and birdies rather than struggling with unmanageable distances.

Whether you have lost some distance or your shots have become erratic, try teeing it forward because the bottom line is we all have to find the bottom of the cup to score...no matter where we play it from!

Golf CartFall Maintenance Schedule

A reminder that we will be performing our annual fall maintenance aeration of the golf course from Monday, September 15th through Wednesday, September, 17th.

During this period the course will be closed for play. This is a necessary step in preparing the course for the fall and winter as it relieves compaction on the greens and allows for air and water to penetrate the soil.

We thank you for your patience during this process

We have noticed more patrons are fixing divots, repairing ball marks and raking traps which has contributed to the great course conditions this year. Please continue these practices as it goes a very long way in preserving course conditions and demonstrates the pride that our patrons take in the golf course. We appreciate this effort and thank you for continuing this for the remainder of the season.

The Importance of Knowing The Rules of the Game

What do you do if you hit the ball out of bounds or you can't find the ball?
A ball deemed out of bounds or lost must be played from the original spot it was last played-Rule 27
Stroke and Distance Penalty

A ball out of bounds or lost (not in a  hazard) is a Stroke and Distance penalty (Rule 27). This means if you hit the ball out of bounds or can't find your ball after looking for 5 minutes, you must go back to the spot where you originally hit the ball and play from that spot with a one stroke penalty

To speed up play, if you think your ball is lost or out of bounds play a provisional ball and save yourself some time.

Remember that you cannot drop the ball where is went out of bounds or the spot you think it was lost-you must go back to the original spot from where you last played the shot and drop your ball!
