My parents are visiting next week and in honor of my mom's love of YogaRhythmics we are hosting a special class on Friday, August 28th (there are two classes this month - this week AND next!), so that my mom can attend. I've dragged her semi-reluctantly to yoga classes over the years, but after leaving a YogaRhythmics class at the studio with Nicole a few years ago, she turned to me in the parking lot and stated, "
now that's MY kind of yoga!" Yes, Merry, there is a yoga for everyone! :)
Since, like all our Friday night classes, YogaRhythmics is a benefit, Nicole asked me if my mom is passionate about a particular charity or non-profit that the class could support. I'm sorry (and a little bit embarrassed) to say, that I wasn't sure. She's my mom.... how can I not know!? But, in that moment, I realized that we don't typically have the types of conversations where we talk about what we are passionate about... that I don't have the depth of knowledge about her (or my dad) that I do with others who are close to me.
Needless to say, since I'm blessed to be able to still ask my parents questions, I'm intending to do just that! Earlier this year, I came across a list of questions for interviewing your parents. I think I'm going to pull that out when they are in town and see if we can all dive a bit deeper!
Let's start asking the questions if we want to know the answers, my friends!
Namaste,
Kristi
