SHOUT OUTS
Loomis Chamber musician and freshman Julia Deitelbaum, who has played the harp for eight years, has been invited to perform with the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra this October and December. She performed with the symphony last year alongside the Travelers Chorale at the Bushnell Theater and is looking forward to several local area 'gigs' this fall and winter.

In his convocation talk on October 8, Scott MacClintic '82, director of the Kravis Center for Excellence in Teaching, suggested ways students may take advantage of recent findings in neuroscience to make the most of their study time.
College Guidance Mini Series Begins Oct. 12
College Guidance will offer informational seminars open to all students covering broad topics of interest in the college application process. "Making the Most of College Night" is the first in the series Monday, October 12, the day before LC College Evening.

Andrew Lippa, Broadway composer, lyricist, writer, and producer, met with LC theater and music students as part of the Dramatists Guild Fund Traveling Masters program on Friday, October 2.

Field Hockey & Girls Soccer Beat Taft
Mother Nature made Saturday's games in Watertown something to dread for players and fans, with chilly winds and low temperatures, but the Pelicans left the Rhinos cold as both the field hockey team (9-0) and the girls soccer team (2-0) shut out Taft with solid play. Read more.
