Focus Goes...Energy flows

 

It was the 4th workout class of the day at my recent fitness conference. I was tired. I was sore. It was late in the day, and frankly, I just wasn't in the mood for another hour and a half of working out. Before we began the class, our instructor/coach looked out at all of the worn out and tired participants and knew exactly what he had to say... "Focus goes...Energy flows". 

 

Life is a mental game. If you walk around all day thinking 'I'm stressed out', 'I'm tired', 'I don't feel like doing this', then you've already lost. By filling your head with negative vibes your physical form is sure to follow. However, if you focus on being positive and turn your attention to the worthwhile benefits that can come from your undesirable activities, you can turn the mental tide and get the job done. Change your focus to be upbeat and your energy is sure to follow. Focus goes...energy flows.

June's Circuit Training Class Schedule 
 

 

Starting June 3rd, our Wednesday and Friday Circuit Training Classes will be changing their respective times in order to better accommodate everyone's Summer schedule. If you cannot make these times don't forget the Saturday class is still available every week at 8am. If you do not already have a set of sessions you can still buy 5 classes for $110 or 10 classes for $200.

Recipe of the Month
Judi's Healthy Popcorn!

What You Need:
1/3 Cup of Popcorn Kernels
Brown Paper Bag
Pam
Preferred Spice(s)

Simply place the kernels inside the brown paper bag and lightly wet the bottom of the bag. After microwaving the bag for 4 minutes, empty the popcorn into a bowl, lightly spray with some olive oil spray, and add in your own preferred spice! A yummy & easy snack for those late afternoon munchies!
 
Foam Roller Class
Want to work out all those tight sports and sore muscles? Are you curious about the proper techniques for using the 
foam rollers?
 
 On Wednesday, June 11th, at 11am, Chris will teach a "Foam Roll Release" class right here at our Workout 32789 studio. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning how to properly use the foam rollers & would like to work out all of their kinks in their body.
 
Please reserve your spot ASAP, as there are only 6 spots available. This class may be used from any series you currently have.
Power Performer 
of the Month:
Scott Rich

 

We decided to change up how we present our Power Performer of the month. Now, we want to hear from you!! We asked this months winner, Scott Rich, a few questions about his experiences at Workout 32789...

 

What's the biggest change you have noticed physically or mentally since you started training with Judi?

 

I am definitely more conscious of my diet.  I lack discipline in this area and have kept my food indulgences, but I am more mindful of my food choices, as well as the frequency and portion size of my cheat meals.  

 

What's your favorite and least favorite part of working out?

 

My favorite part is feeling energetic, feeling of accomplishment, and the positivity of the Workout 32789 staff.  I do notice a positive change in my mental outlook as well as my physical appearance which is rewarding.  My least favorite part (and Judi knows this) is burpies or mountain-climbers.  She has me do them anyway... 

 

When did you realize it was time to make a change in your life?

 

I had bilateral hip replacement surgery back in 2010.  The recovery process combined with progressing further into my 30s completely changed my body.  I gained at least 20 pounds since the procedure.  I had met Judi by happenstance on the street when I moved to Winter Park in April, 2012.  After Thanksgiving of last year, it became clear to me that I needed to make some changes to get back in shape.  I had saved Judi's number from when I met her a year and a half earlier-I made the call and I am very glad I did!

 

What did you hope to accomplish since you started training at Workout 32789 with Judi the last three months?

 

Really I wanted to lean up and lose weight.  I had to change my perspective with regard to the number I saw when I stepped on the scale.  I haven't lost weight, but there has been a significant change in my body fat percentage.  I am still working on the six-pack.
