Conversation Partners Program
Spring Luncheon
The Conversation Partners met together for an End-of-the-Year Luncheon in the Walsh Function Room on Monday, April 28th. Thank you to all those who participated in the 2013-2014 program!
CPP is designed for new international grad students to practice their conversational English with a native English speaker from the BC community. Each pair plan weekly meetings on or off-campus in order to practice speaking, as well as learn about American slang and culture. |
International Assistant Events
Easter Egg Coloring Social
A group of international students and international assistants (IAs) practiced the art of dyeing eggs on Monday, April 14th. For many this was their first experience coloring eggs, a spring tradition in the U.S. Chocolate candies and other desserts were also enjoyed by all. This was the last official IA event of the year, although many IAs plan various activities with international students throughout the remainder of the semester. |
Spouses and Families Spring Events
Spring Egg Hunt
On April 10th, the OISS collaborated with Graduate Student Life to create a fun and adventurous Spring Egg Hunt! Eggs filled with candies were hidden throughout the lawn of the Murray House, and the children raced to find them. They also had the opportunity to draw creative Springtime pictures. We had a wonderful closing program to the semester and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather!
Children's Music Group
This semester the family members of international students and scholars decided to hold a music group for children under five years old. Mahtab Sirdani taught the children songs and dances while undergradvolunteers helped lead activities and brought different musical instruments for the children to play. It was a great time for all!

Red Sox Game!
The OISS organized outing for BC International Community
It was drizzling outside on April 8th, but that did not stop the BC International Community from heading to the most recent organized Red Sox Game! The atmosphere in Kenmore was exciting as the game took place shortly after the team's Opening Day.
