Superhero Run 2015 - Thank You!
2015 Superheroes and Batman
Superheroes Anna, Shya, Channing and Jakob with Batman!
The BCCN Superhero Run on September 5th drew hundreds of runners and walkers out for a beautiful morning of fun at Keva Sports Center in Middleton!  The event raised more than $40,000 to assist families with their financial and transportation burdens and provide groceries, support groups, New Diagnosis Bags, Hero Beads, hospital meals and so much more. Thank you to our enthusiastic teams for your infectious energy and stellar fundraising!  There were so many great costumes this year! We had a great group of volunteers at home base as well as out on the route, and phenomenal corporate sponsors who made it all possible. Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor UW Health/Unity Insurance. Click here to see all the great photos!

Childhood Cancer Family Support  Nov 15
support group
We encourage all current and recent cancer patient families (parents, patient and siblings) to attend our monthly family support group at the fun facilities of Vitense Golfland!  We have shifted our meeting date to the third Sunday evening of the month to try and accommodate more families' busy schedules.  Meet at 6 pm for a pizza and salad dinner, then kids can do activities, and play indoor miniature golf and arcade games with volunteers from the UW Student Occupational Therapy Association while adults have time to chat and share.  NOTE: There will be no December support group meeting.  Join us at the Holiday Party on Dec 12th!    Vitense Golfland is located at the intersection of Whitney Way and Hwys 12/18 in Madison.

Donor Appreciation

Stark Company Realtors made BCCN and the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County the beneficiaries of their 8th Annual Company Community Golf Classic on August 17th! We are very grateful for their generous donation!

The annual BCCN Bass Invitational Tournament on Lake Wisconsin on August 2nd was very successful and a ton of fun for all involved!
Thanks so much to Chris James and Andy Manke and all of our friends at Don's Marine of Lodi, Tri City Bass Club, the whole gang at Remi's Thirsty Moose, Wyttenbach Meats, and all of our generous raffle donors and anglers!

Our friends at Metcalfe's Market hosted a fundraising Brat Stand at the Hilldale Grand Reopening, with all proceeds supporting the Superhero Run! Batgirl Leah is a BCCN survivor and UW Oshkosh student who volunteered at the event. Board president John Stofflet and Batman also posed with our tireless Metcalfe's brat chefs.

We are very grateful for the support of our friends at IT services firm 5Nines of Madison. They donated the proceeds of their July golf outing to BCCN, and generously provide our email service and the webhosting for www.badgerchildhoodcancer.org and www.badgersuperhero.com !

The Dane County Medical Society awarded BCCN a very generous $2000 grant to provide services to families of children with sickle cell disease, including a new family support group that will start soon!
