What Does the Sanctuary Mean to You?
Here is what two of our board members say:

Being a pastor isn't easy.  It is comforting to know that this ministry of contemplation and intercessory prayer sustains my ministry and the world.  Beautiful writing and social media refresh me when needed.  Thank God for this ministry and your support of it.
                                                                                                                Rev. Pat Ireland

My wife and I have supported the work of Loretta Ross and the Sanctuary Foundation for Prayer since its inception, some 25 years ago, both prayerfully and financially. Her prayers, meditations, and books have blessed us in an on-going manner. There is need for a regular prayer focus in our lives, both personally and corporately, and the Sanctuary provides exactly that. Too often, our lives stray so far from their quiet center that we simply cannot pray for ourselves, and we need a faithful servant praying for us.

Each year, as Carrie and I consider how best to distribute the charitable dollars we have available, we know our gifts to the Sanctuary will be multiplied many times over by Loretta's frugal and faithful service as a prayer beacon to our world. I pray you will consider supporting the vital work of the Sanctuary with us this year. What better gift can we give to a hurting world than that of prayer? Greg Hildenbrand

For me, Loretta, the Sanctuary means relationship.  I have come to understand The Sanctuary as  web of inter-dependent relationships, reflecting the self-giving love of the Trinity. The Sanctuary is not so much an institution, as a living organism of lives seeking God.  It is less a geographical location, and more a multitude of intersections in the living body of Christ.  It appears now and then as a makeshift fruit stand by the side of some road you happen to be passing.  You may pull it out of your mail box, click a link on the internet, stop by the office for a visit. Maybe we skype, or phone or meet somewhere.  It is certainly no person's property, a keeper of esoteric secrets, a product to sell, or a brand to protect. Summoned and dispersed by the Spirit the Sanctuary belongs to God. It is church, hidden, yet as common and available as your next breath.

We exist solely at God's good pleasure and through your prayers and financial gifts. It is an incredible joy and privilege for our board and me to offer this ministry.  We trust God to provide what is needed to continue our work of prayer and look to your generous hearts to help us pay the bills and keep weaving this web of prayer for many years to come. Let us know what the Sanctuary means to you by jotting a note on the back of your donation form or sending an email.
With love and gratitude, Loretta F.Ross, Executive Director

Some recent feedback from a reader about our Summer 2015 issue:
Dear Loretta,
I am teaching a class on conflict resolution this quarter to freshmen at Seattle Pacific University, and I assigned your article Appliance Violence from Holy Ground to them about a month ago. In a recent reflection paper, two students mentioned that your article was one of the most helpful and insightful ones they've come across.  THANK YOU for the gift of your words. . . . Emily Huff

Please help us continue to expand the web of prayer and support we offer. No gift is too small. You will help offer Christ's peace and support to persons unable to pay for our services. These include poor and disabled persons in our community and beyond. We serve people without church homes or access to community services.

Uncovering God at Christmas is a collection of daily reflections to help the reader focus on the true celebration of the season - God with us. These meditations begin on Thanksgiving, follow the season of Advent, and continue through the 12 days of Christmas to Epiphany. Christmastime has become so commercialized, so hectic, and with such high expectations that God is easily buried in the chaos. Uncovering God at Christmas provides structured time each day for the reader to focus on Emmanuel - God with us.   Find Out More and Buy Here
