Westland, MI - The City of Westland has scheduled three town hall meetings throughout the month of July, which will focus on the new sanitation and garbage collection program.

The meetings will be open to the public. The dates, times, and locations are as follows:

-Thursday, July 17, 6 - 7 pm: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7575 N. Hix Rd.

-Tuesday, July 22, 6 - 7 pm: Dorsey Center, 32715 Dorsey.

-Tuesday, July 29, 6 - 7 pm: Friendship Center, 1119 Newburgh Rd.

The meetings will give residents the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the new black 96 gallon garbage bins that will be delivered in the first three weeks of August. Then, the new program is set to begin on September 1.

The changes to the sanitation program will not affect curbside recycling or compost pick-up. However, some residents may have their pick-up day changed, and they will receive two weeks notice if that occurs.
