Woodworkers are different. It's not visions of sugarplums that animate our dreams, but visions of furniture, masks and tiny houses - a multitude of things that can be made with wood. If you have a dream project, you can develop the skills to make it here.

Fort Worden Porch Furniture Project Open House
Join us on Thursday, December 10 from 4-6:00pm for the first public tour of our new workspace in Building 304. The space was built-out and equipped to produce a custom line of porch furniture for Fort Worden and members of the team will be on hand to share design and production details.
Our gratitude to those of you who shared your experience and provided input for future planning. Your responses reflected an incredible generosity of spirit. We'll respond directly if requested and summarize learning in a future newsletter. One point was clear: Commitment - 70% of you consider yourselves Craft Woodworkers, with an ongoing commitment to improving your skill set and expertise.

This year has been a leap of faith - for the School, our partners and our supporters.
As a community, we've invested in building capacity and developing pilot programs that bring our woodworking mission to life. On display at the 10/12 Open House: the results of a $75,000 grant that financed the porch furniture project. The funding also provided for the new equipment in Building 304, roughly doubling our workshop space and providing a setting for more advanced furniture making classes and projects.
As you consider where to direct 2016 donations, we invite you to attend the Open House and see what we can do by eye, by hand and by heart.
