2015 Fall Lecture Series Recap
By: Rebecca Slenker, AIA

Sketch portrait by James S. Douglas
The 2015 AIA Central PA Fall lecture was held on November 19th at the office LSC Design, Inc with David Jameson, FAIA as our guest speaker. Located in Washington DC, his office focuses primarily on residential architecture and has won numerous accolades for their work.  David began the evening by dedicating his lecture to one of his friends and one of our past lecturers, Frank Harmon, who was celebrating his retirement the very evening of our lecture. He was both inspiring and endearing as he bounced between discussions of his architecture and process to anecdotes about his childhood, clients, and other architects.  The lecture displayed David's thoughtfulness and humility as he explained that good design has more to do with the life of the inhabitant than it does the stylistic desires of the architect. The range of architectural expression found in his work was a testament to that belief.  He shared a great deal of information and insight into his thought process making the evening a great success. David has also been gracious enough to help us secure our next lecturer. We are excited for what is to come in 2016!
