Foundation invests $1.5 million in community

The Tufts Health Plan Foundation announced investments of more than $1.5 million to advance age-friendly policies and practices that are relevant, focus on the most vulnerable, and include older adults in the process. The investments represent collaborative work among more than 200 organizations.

"Advocating for public policy or systems change is critical to achieving social change at scale," said Nora Moreno Cargie, president of the Tufts Health Plan Foundation and vice president, corporate citizenship for Tufts Health Plan. "We are investing in initiatives that promote coalitions and strategies that bring government, community organizations, and older adults together to create a vision for the future of their communities."

Tufts Health Plan top team in Massachusetts

Tufts Health Plan was the #1 fundraising team in Massachusetts and #5 in the country for the Walk to End Alzheimer's. More than 150 Tufts Health Plan employees and family members walked to end Alzheimer's in September and October, raising a combined $160,000 that included a match from the Tufts Health Plan Foundation. The money will advance research and support those living with the disease.

Forging new partnerships in NH

The Foundation team continues to expand our community relationships in New Hampshire. Last week, the New Hampshire Endowment invited Foundation President Nora Moreno Cargie (pictured, left) and Foundation Managing Director Anne Marie Boursiquot King to hear from the New Hampshire Elder Health Coalition and learn more about the group's priorities and the status of their age-friendly work.
