Should we tinker with our DNA? A Seattle Community Conversation

New technology called CRISPR/Cas9 helps scientists modify DNA more quickly and precisely than ever before.  What if DNA that contributes to sickness could be modified to ensure or restore good health?  

*    Is this technology safe? How will we know?
*    Is it OK to modify DNA in skin, muscle and nerve cells?
*    What about creating children with permanent DNA modifications that can be passed on?
*    What uses of this technology would not be OK?
