Special Opportunity: Walking Survey

  

UAB Sociologists Dr. Adrienne Milner and Dr. Elizabeth Baker are recruiting individuals to participate in a walking program through the use of a survey that is designed to measure feelings and behaviors with regard to health and physical activity. From those who complete the survey, they will choose participants for a study, and those individuals will receive a monetary incentive of $100 to take part in their research. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to take the following online survey which contains more detailed information about the study and should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. AcademyHealth and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) are partnering to provide an introductory level webinar to the PCORI Methodology Standards.

 

The purpose of this webinar is to help researchers understand how the standards can be used to guide high quality, scientifically rigorous patient-centered outcomes research. The session will provide an overview of the standards, including how they apply to those seeking funding from PCORI, as well as provide background for further discussion at a June 25 workshop.

Call for Submissions: AAMC Collaboration with Khan Academy, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

The Association of American Medical Colleges, Khan Academy, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced a collaboration to provide free, online resources to help students prepare for the revised Medical College Admission Test� (MCAT�) that will be administered in 2015.

 

To develop the new resources, the three organizations are sponsoring a competition to encourage medical students, graduate students, residents and faculty to create educational tutorials about concepts that will be tested by the new MCAT exam.
