President
From the President

The Lewisville City Council is conducing workshops to discuss a possible multi-million dollar bond election to be held in November. The funding would address roadways, safety and quality of life items such as a possible multi-generational activity center. The need for a new fire station, expanding the current police station and $71.6 million in street projects are also under consideration.

The recommendations were brought forth by the Blue Ribbon Committee, which was made up of citizens and community leaders. I had the pleasure of chairing the committee that met weekly for approximately six months. I will admit that the original list compiled by the committee was double the size of our final recommendations.

The citizens of Lewisville overwhelmingly stated that it is time for reinvestment in the city of Lewisville. We have one of the lowest tax rates in all of the DFW area, and we should consider investing funds to keep Lewisville a great place to live, work and thrive. The Chamber will provide updates on the details as they are confirmed.
