Cristi's Outreach Foundation:
Celebrating Autism Awareness Around the World

On World Autism Awareness Day, an event to show support for children affected by autism was organized in the town of Barlad, Romania. Cristi's Outreach Foundation, a branch of the Brent Woodall Foundation, along with several dozen students and parents of children with autism launched dozens of balloons and lanterns to draw attention toward the significant neglect of the needs of these young children, whom are not included in any governmental health plan. Presently 30 children between 3 and 8 years of age receive services from Cristi's Outreach, many of which are brought by their parents from tens of kilometers away because they do not have the option of a specialized therapeutic center where they live. Another 120 children are on the center's waiting list. This event brought together almost 100 children, students, parents, and advocates, including the Mayor of Barlad.
