In this edition of Inside MHSCN:

Your voice inspires us
Jennifer Schliesman, president

As MHSCN continues down the path to bring you enriched programs, valuable networking opportunities and improved/enhanced membership benefits, let's take one more look at some of the key findings from our recent membership survey. The 2014 membership survey revealed that the greatest percentage of respondents expressed interest in the following topics:

1. Marketing
2. Digital/electronic media
3. Strategy
4. Healthcare issues and trends
5. Return on investment measurement
6. Social media
7. Health and wellness

Our most recent MHSCN webinar on April 17th, Marketing Strategy for Differentiation, combined with our lineup of topics for the Spring Conference (see below) will virtually cover our entire "favorite topics" list. Between Engaging the Community to Improving Kids' Health, Leadership in a Connected Age, trends/preferences and new truths about the boomer population and one woman's personal journey to wellness through her own lifestyle changes-you're bound to be inspired.

I'm looking forward to seeing you on May 15!

situp-woman.jpg In my first job with a health planning agency in the 1970s, the goal was to improve the health and health care of our 25-county service area. Now 40 years later, I'm working with the Edina Community Health Commission on this same monumental goal. I take inspiration in what our society has done with tobacco - changed attitudes and cut smoking levels essentially in half - as a sign that major health improvements are truly possible.
