Dr. Dalglish Visits Chang Jung High School

Dr. Dalglish traveled to Tainan, Taiwan the week of September 16 to participate in the celebration of the 128th anniversary of Chang Jung High School.  The school was established by Presbyterian missionaries in 1885. Today, the school has 5,000 students in grades 6-12.

During his visit, Dr. Dalglish met with the principal of Chang Jung High School and other Presbyterian educators, doctors

and pastors to discuss a possible partnership with Pan Am. Students at Chang Jung study English, but they never truly get proficient because they are never immersed in an English-speaking environment. Fortunately, English proficiency is one of the strengths of a Pan Am education. Pan Am hopes to host students from Chang Jung in the future to help them study English.

Students Visit FPC, Falfurrias

PPAS students are already leaders in the church. When the organist at First Presbyterian Church in Falfurrias was unable to lead music one Sunday in September, a small group of PPAS singers and instrumentalists filled in with beautiful music.

Students were accom- panied by Joe Garcia, PPAS choir director, and Rev. Sonja Dalglish, wife of Dr. Dalglish, who was filling the pulpit that morning.

Construction Update
The new loop road encircling the campus and the parking area at the gymnasium are complete! Curbing was installed at the end of September, and visitors to campus are now able to drive and park near the gymnasium and soccer fields.

This project began last October and also included the installation of new gas, water and sewer lines on campus. This new parking lot will also serve our new Student Center, which is being partially funded through a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. A new sign at the campus entrance is currently being constructed, and ground-breaking for the new Student Center is scheduled in December.
