Merry Christmas

Students have completed their semester exams and are officially on Christmas Break until classes resume on January 6.  We wish all of our students, faculty, staff and friends of the school a safe and blessed Christmas.

Remembering Mr. Perry Reed

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Perry Reed on Thursday, December 12, 2013, in Palestine, Texas.  He was loved by many at Tex-Mex and Presbyterian Pan American School where he served for 37 years as a teacher, associate headmaster, treasurer and registrar.  He retired from Pan Am in 1983, but his legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 18.  Click here to read the obituary.

Christmas Candlelight Service

The entire campus joined together for worship with a Service of Lessons and Carols on Saturday, December 7.  Students presented six lessons, which were read in Kinyarwanda and English.

Special music included an instrumental quartet with Magdiel Alaniz, Hyun Suk Choi, Ismael Bartolome and Miso Lee and a special vocal performance of "O Holy Night" performed by Grace Han and accompanied by Hyun Suk Choi on piano. The ceremony concluded with the singing of "Silent Night, Holy Night" as everyone lit candles creating a circle of light around the chapel.

The service was followed by a Christmas party in the dining hall, where students enjoyed food and fellow-ship and participated in the traditional gift exchange.  "Santa" (aka Dr. Dalglish) assisted in distributing the gifts, and a great time was had by all.

National Honor Society Induction
Eighteen PPAS students were inducted into the John A. Mackay Chapter of the National Honor Society on Friday, December 6.  Dr. Dalglish, opened the ceremony with prayer, followed by welcoming remarks from principal, Ellie Perez.

And, Tania Rodriguez, PPAS Class of 2010, spoke to the students about how her education at PPAS prepared her for college and encouraged students to have a passion and to pursue their dreams.  Tania will graduate from the University of Houston in May 2014.
