PPAS Alumni Featured in Christmas Joy Offering Guides
Noe Hinojosa
Two PPAS alumni, Noe Hinojosa, Jr. '79, and Patricia Hsu Payan '86, are featured in the faith guides used to promote 2014 Christmas Joy Offering by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

This special offering is collected each year during the Advent season to help provide financial assistance to current and former church workers and their families and to deserving students who attend Presbyterian-related racial ethnic colleges and schools.

Noe and Patricia both benefited from the Christmas Joy Offering when they were students at Presbyterian Pan American School, and our students continue to benefit today. We are grateful for the generous support that our school receives each year from Presbyterian churches from all over the United States through the Christmas Joy Offering.

PC(USA) Visit
Pan Am receives generous support each year from Presbyterian churches all over the United States through the Christmas Joy Offering. We recently hosted a delegation from the PC(USA) Racial/Ethnic Ministries office as they reviewed our current status and observed our exciting mission.

Each of our visitors was very impressed with our school. The team consisted of Simone Adams-Andrade, PC(USA) Associate for Racial/Ethnic Schools; Alice Ridgill, member of the Presbyterian Mission Agency's board; and Joe Loftin, Headmaster of Wasatch Academy in Utah. We give thanks to these individuals for giving their time to visit our school and thanks to all who give so generously to the Christmas Joy Offering.
Construction of New Student Center Kicks OffStudent Center Construction

Construction on our new Student Center is underway! This is the first new construction on campus in over 30 years. This new facility will provide critically needed space for a new dining hall, a health and fitness room, locker rooms, a performing arts space and a new gym for athletics and recreation.

In preparation for this project, a temporary fence was constructed around the work site for the students' ongoing safety, and the existing field house was razed in preparation for clearing the footprint of the new building. All of the oak trees around the site have been trimmed and will remain - we didn't lose any trees! The contractor is in the process of pouring the concrete footings that will eventually support the concrete block that will form the exterior walls. Construction of the actual dome structure is scheduled to begin by the middle of November with estimated substantial completion of the project by May 2015.

Fields of Faith
Fields of Faith 2014
One hundred and fifteen PPAS students participated in the "Fields of Faith" event held at Texas A&M University-Kingsville on October 8. Our very own Praise Band provided the music for the event, and our school had the largest single group in attendance for the southern Coastal Bend area!

Thousands of youth across the United States unite on athletic fields across the nation to share their Christian faith with fellow students through this annual event sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
