Administrator's Corner
The spring sports season is well underway and I wanted to share with you some of the features of our scheduling website that can help athletes and their families stay informed.
The rSchool schedule site can be found by clicking on the TJ Athletics webpage under the
Team Schedule tab, or clicking
here. With our unpredictable spring weather one important feature of the site is the "Notify Me!" link in the upper right hand corner. This feature allows a parent to select the specific schedule of their student athlete and then submit contact information that will be used to send them an email or text the moment games are canceled and/or rescheduled.
Another great feature of rSchool is the "Subscribe" feature. This feature allows you to quickly and easily download specific team schedules into your outlook or google calendar. Simply select the team schedule from the "View Schedules" section on the right and then select subscribe in upper right hand corner. These features will help keep student athletes and their families informed and up to date on our after school events.
Before I sign off I wanted to remind our students and their families that tutoring is available in the library from 3:00 to 4:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Teachers are also available from 2:15 to 2:55 every Wednesday for office hours. Student athletes are encouraged to communicate with their coaches if they need to be excused from practice in order to take advantage of additional academic support.

Congratulations, Adna!
The Denver Nuggets will honor sophomore
Adna Adrovic Wednesday March 25, during pre-game of the Nuggets vs. the Philadelphia 76ers. The
Comeback Athlete of the Year award is given to an athlete to appreciate his or her efforts in recovering from an injury or illness not necessarily related to sports performance.
Adrovic will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship for post-secondary education, and Thomas Jefferson's athletic training department will get $1,000.

Destination Imagination - Congrats to the TJ/GW team!

The Thomas Jefferson/George Washington DI team competed this weekend in the Scientific challenge and won first place! Not only that, but they also received the Da Vinci Award (see below for description).
The team now moves onto state (April 25th at the Auraria Campus). If they are one of the top 3 teams high school teams in the state for their challenge (the scientific challenge), they have the opportunity to go to Globals. Wish the following students luck: Spartans Camryn Guenther and Molly Berenbaum, and Patriot Isabelle Levine-Clark!

TJ Shines Bright in the Lone Star State
|
Members of the Honor Platoon and Color Guard travel to Texas for Regionals.
As students at Thomas Jefferson High School attended class and studied for tests and quizzes, another group of Spartans in JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) faced a different kind of challenge. On February 4th, 13 members of TJ's Honor Platoon and four Color Guard members traveled to San Antonio, Texas by bus for four days to compete in the 5th Brigade Western Regional Championships.
