Sisters of St. Joseph Rally, Pilgrimage and "Blessing of the Animals"

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, the eve of the Feast of St. Francis, the Sisters of St. Joseph joined with other community and religious organizations, and the public, to gather in solidarity with millions around the world in response to Pope Francis' urgent appeal to care for the environment and all creation. The rally began in Ross Park in Brentwood, followed by a one mile pilgrimage to the Sisters of St. Joseph Organic Garden, on their 211 acre complex in Brentwood, where a "Blessing of the Animals" took place.

Garden Ministry Events

The Sisters' Garden Ministry has had a busy few months. In addition to the "Blessing of the Animals" service held there on October 3rd, the Garden held an open house that included a "Thoughtful Threshing" of the wheat grown in the Garden, a picnic for the Garden's volunteers and community gardeners, and a tomato sandwich supper. Students from various schools and churches continuously visit the Garden. Click here to see photos from these events.
