Paola Gianturco, a photojournalist, documented these incredible women for her 2012 book, Grand Mother Power, which has since turned into an interactive traveling exhibit and is inspiring an international movement. Be a Big Voice for Little Kids
This week, the Senate will vote to reauthorize the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), the primary source of federal funding for child care subsidies for low-income working families and funds to improve child care quality. If it passes, this victory will be an important step in building a strong early learning system. Congress last reauthorized CCDBG nearly 20 years ago. Much has changed since then, but the fundamental importance of child care funding has not. Learn how you can be a big voice for little kids. Governor Election Action Alert
With the gubernatorial election less than eight months away, the Nebraska Early Childhood Grandparent Network wants to make sure the next governor champions policies that invest in the state's youngest citizens. "If we don't get the first five years right," according to the Action Alert, "everything that comes after in K-12 and post-secondary will be more expensive and more difficult." There are three ways you can help the Grandparent Network educate candidates on the value of quality early experiences for all young Nebraskans: sign your name, write letters (download our sample letter) or ask a question.

Join advocates from across the state March 12 as they meet at the Capitol in Frankfort to speak out in support of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Supporters will also demonstrate their community accomplishments to elected officials.

'Pre-K for PA' Campaign Launches
With a goal of ensuring every 3- and 4-year-old in Pennsylvania has the opportunity to attend high-quality pre-kindergartden, the "Pre-K for PA: All Children Ready to Succeed" campaign launched on Jan. 23. Now, Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children is trying to help elevate the discussion and find way to help more children.
