Good Afternoon,

Congrats to all of the girls who did Queen of the Crest. My lordy lord lord... that was some serious ocean! I promise you that if you made it through that you can make it through any open water swim. We had a lot of winners and I was so proud to place crowns on so many member's heads! The woman who won Queen of the Crest was actually a lifeguard from Wildwood; she was very sweet, gracious and loved our club. A MASSIVE congrats to Kym Stone who won the trip to Bermuda, including air, hotel and race entry! She hugged Barb so hard, I thought Barb was going to drop a bottle the bottle of wine she was holding. Oh wait... she did drop that bottle.   Ha ha.... Love your enthusiasm Kym!

FALL Activities

  • Weird NJSeptember 7, 2014.  Our WEIRD NJ ride will . A beautiful, rural ride to find the weirdness in NJ- Forty miles, easy pace. Sign up on the side bar.
  • Rocky Runs: September 14, October 5 & October 19. We are bringing back Rocky! This is a six mile run/jog/walk beginning at boat house row and ending at the top of the art museum steps! It is a beautiful run on the river and typically we see rowers from the Universities. We typically car pool over or met at Lloyd hall! I still need to create this sign up!
  •  Time Trials: I am still working on this and it is going to be VERY simple, but I thought we could do a version of what the big boys do (meaning the cycling clubs). A time trial is simple a timed bike ride. You ride as fast as you can for 7 miles. You will be timed on a completely closed road. Just kind of cool to see how fast you can really go! More details to follow!
  •  End of the Season Bash!  We are finalizing this and will get information out to you as soon as possible!  This is simply an awesome party to celebrate the season.  We are bringing  back the photo booth and a few other  special touches!  Dancing, Bands, Slideshow of course!
  • Traveling Tri Suit- put on that that tri suit and strike a pose!  Thank you to HFM for this very generous contest.  All of the details are on our website at www.mullicahilltriclub.com  under events.   Once again a huge plug for Michael and his HFM Team.  I you need financial advice of any kind.... give them a call.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU!

As many of you know I was hit from behind by a car on my bike last week.  It was a rural back road with very little traffic. All I remember is going  for a bike ride at 6:30 pm and waking up in Cooper trauma unit at about 9:30 pm.   I was told that my bike helmet absolutely saved my life- if it wasn't on properly, even slightly  loose or cracked, I would have had a serious, possibly fatal brain injury.

My stitches are coming out tomorrow!  Physically, I am healing nicely (although amazed at the various shades of purple my skin has turned :). Mentally, I am not going to lie, it has been tough.   My friends, family and especially all of you in the tri club have been amazing. Thank you for your email, texts, facebook posts, cards, flowers and gift.  I read everything and have NEVER had a a greater appreciation of this beautiful life that I have.

  • Please make sure you helmet always fits properly.
  • Please make you always have some type of ID on you. Consider getting a ROAD ID.
  • Ride safely.  Stay to the right, pass on your left.
  • Be VERY careful when riding by yourself.  Always tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Please be sure those you love- know you love them.

Have a great week.
