Heart for Orphans
August 13, 2014

Alys West and Oksana

Please join Heart for Orphans Tuesday, August 26, from 4:00 - 6:30 pm for an Open House and an opportunity to meet and greet one of our Ukrainian orphan teens.

Oksana, a beautiful 20-year old wheel chair bound teen, and missionary Alys West, one of Heart for Orphans' partners, will be in Williamsburg for a rare visit. Alys has partnered with Heart for Orphans to establish homes for handicapped youth in Kherson. The two homes, one for girls and one for boys, will be called Naomi and Stephen's Houses and will enable handicapped youth to experience the love of family, and the love of God in one's life.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet one of our orphan teens. Please join us August 26th for hors d'oeuvres at our office located at 3917 Midlands Road. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

As Ukraine's future remains uncertain, we continue to ask your support in prayer. As one of our house parents wrote in a recent report, "Please pray for our country. The situation here is very difficult...Shootings are not stopping, people are dying, and children are suffering."

Steps of Faith

We are pleased to report that our very own Nancy Hathaway will be featured in the fall issue of Outcomes, the national magazine of Christian Leadership Alliance. Nancy was approached earlier in the year about writing an article about how God led her to start Heart for Orphans. Her story began with her and husband Steve's adoption of their three Ukrainian daughters. Nancy writes that her heart broke for the kids who would never be adopted and would end up on the streets. When she looks back at how life has unfolded, she is certain, "God led us all the way".

Outcomes magazine offers higher-thinking for today's Christian leaders and the ministries they serve!

Lina and Ira
House of Mercy

Heart for Orphans is pleased to announce its partnership with Lina Nazarenko and House of Mercy in the Odessa region of Ukraine. Lina's passion for education enables her to stress the importance of school and walking with the Lord with the orphan teens.

In a recent report from Lina, we learned that seven orphans received their high school diplomas from public school this summer.
, please continue to give! Your gifts are enabling us to help our teens! For many kids, we are their only family and the ones they turn to when they have a need. Without your help, we couldn't do what we do. Donate today!

Thanks for your support!

Sincerely,
Heart for Orphans Staff
Nancy Hathaway
