Come in from the Cold!
Eva's Community Kitchen Opens for Breakfast
|
For the first time in our history, during winter's coldest months,
Eva's Community Kitchen will open its doors to offer the warmth of a simple break- fast to the community.
Served Monday through Friday during the cold winter months, the daily meal will feature a rotating menu of hot oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, grits, bagels and fruit
.
|
"Eva's compassion for those in need in the harsh winter weather can't be better displayed than by offering them a warm breakfast and keeping them out of the cold for those few hours. These moments are treasured by our dining guests."
Chef Darryl Dela Cruz, Executive Chef Director, Eva's Village

This brand-new program relies on the generosity of friends like you!

Making a Difference
Volunteer Spotlight: Nora Renzulli

|
Nora Renzulli has made a difference at Eva's Community Kitchen for more than 13 years. She came to serve a meal one Friday afternoon, and quickly became "a consistent gentle, loving and friendly face in our Community Kitchen," explained Marie Reger, Eva's Village Executive Director. Nora soon enlisted her whole family to volunteer at Eva's Community Kitchen and at events. On Christmas Day, it has become a Renzulli family tradition to welcome and lead volunteers in the kitchen.
Nora exemplifies Eva's mission to treat each individual with respect and dignity. While the kitchen could not function without regular volunteers, the Renzulli's most valuable contribution is the love that the family has shared with all the guests at Eva's Village, earning their friendship and trust.
|
"I wanted my children to see that not everyone was as fortunate as them
and to continue
a cycle of giving."
Nora Renzulli: Nora and the Renzulli family will be honored with the Msgr. Vincent E. Puma Memorial Award at our
Annual Benefit Gala,
"Visions of Hope:
The Path to Success" on November 5.

Help us Create a Winter Wonderland
Donate to Eva's Holiday Shoppe
|
We are seeking donations of new toys, games, sports equipment, arts and crafts, clothing (ages 0-17) and more to stock our festive "pop up" Holiday Shoppe on December 15. Each year we invite residents of our shelters, halfway houses, and transitional housing programs to choose at least four gifts for each of their children at no charge. Their gift selections are then beautifully wrapped by volunteer elves and magically appear on Christmas morning.
Your donations help bring the magic of the holiday season to the families of Eva's Village.
|
|
We will host a donation drop-off day on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1,
from 3:30 - 7 pm, in Eva's Village Community Kitchen,
393 Main St., Paterson, NJ 07501.
Please bring gifts NEW and UNWRAPPED.
We will continue to accept donations through Dec. 8.
