November 2015
So we heard today on morning TV that this is the start of the "festive season" .  Wow where has the time gone and with Halloween barely in the rear view mirror, we're onto the next!  For us it's time to reflect on our season, look forward to time with the family and begin preparing for next year.

With a week of fine weather ahead and three days of no bookings, we took the opportunity to do some much needed redecorations outside.  As I write this 3J's Painting are pressure   washing the outside and with luck we'll have the patio and front repainted this week, the shingle in a light soft grey, with white trim and the black shutters.    Today the inn looks a little sad, it looks like its been pummeled by a category 5 hurricane, but we plan to add a pergola to cover the left side of the patio area as well as some landscaping and new flower beds.  We want to make our patio a little more inviting, chic, cozy and relaxing.

Last minute changes or cancelations  to bookings due to unplanned emergencies, or perhaps illness is always difficult for us and our guests.  For us it's trying to resell last minute rooms and the impact to us as a small business is a challenge.  Our cancelation policy covers these difficult issues.  For our guests there is the disappointment of being unable to take that break or vacation and on top of that having to rearrange travel and accommodation plans, often at a cost.  We're really sensitive to these issues and have had discussions with a couple of companies who specialize in providing insurance coverage for these type of events.  There are multiple companies out there, but we've partnered with  insuremytrip.com to offer a solution.  Something to think about when you plan your next trip or vacation!

With Thanksgiving now just around the corner, Charlie and Beth will be joining us here and although Jonathan is currently in Australia with his brother Ollie, we'll be welcoming Demitria's family from Ohio.  We're so looking forward to it.  Whatever your plans are or where they may take you, enjoy the moments with family and friends, and have a wonderful and peaceful time.
The iconic Parsonage Inn baseball cap, a seriously fun accessory especially for people like me with an extended forehead, a must!

  The Festive season arrives!
Seasonal events!

We're so lucky to live on the Cape and enjoy such a unique environment.  Stunning beaches, the trails, great restaurants, and of course we have an almost year round program of art, theatre and music.  If the weather looks good, come for a relaxing weekend here and enjoy. Here's some of our favorite events happening over the next month;

Sit A While with Kami Lyle 2015, November 6
We're thrilled to support The Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Kami Lyle sit-a- while concerts, where National Artists meet Local Talent and this concert features Paula Cole & Mark Erelli. It's going to be a great evening.
The Cotuit offer a wonderful variety of concerts, plays and shows and include an evening with Art Garfunkel on November 16.

Cape Rep Theatre and Academy Playhouse
Within 10 minutes of the Parsonage Inn we have two theatres both offering plays for much of the year.
The Academy Playhouse is half way through (October 9 - November 15) a run of " Sweeney Todd" and receiving great audience reviews.   Dickens "A Christmas Carol", will be performed in December.
The Cape Rep in Brewster is just finishing its sell out run of "Mr. Burns" and kicks off " La Cage Aux Folles",  November 5 - December 6

Attention all runners! Santa stampede, Saturday December 5.
Here in Orleans we have a full program of events over the festive season, breakfasts with Santa, town walks and a 5k fun stampede run.  Stay with us over the weekend of December 4, enjoy a cozy room and a healthy breakfast(s) before lining up and participate in the 5k fun run that passes by the Parsonage before finishing at the Barley Neck Inn.  And to celebrate the weekend, mention this note when making your booking and we'll provide two free entry tickets (normally $20 each) with your two night booking. For more information on this local Orleans event, including schedules and fun prizes click here.
