Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.

Last Monday's meeting was the last of a series of programs dealing with Community Involvement. Based on the desire of our membership to learn more about opportunities for meaningful involvement in community organizations, over the course of this year the programs committee presented four Santa Fe organizations that provide such opportunities:
Esperanza Shelter, the Food Depot, Communities in Schools, and - last Monday - the
Clown Chorus. This group of seven women, including members
Jean Palmer (also the pianist) and
Linda McEnroe, dress up as clowns and entertain folks in retirement communities, nursing homes, and other venues, singing oldies and encouraging the audience to sing along. What fun it was to watch these women clowning around while singing and dancing! It didn't take long for all of us to join in and singing (or humming) some "oldies", swaying, laughing, and having a great time! Judy Donohue,
our program coordinator, for all the great programs she put together over the last six months!

Holiday Potluck Party. It will be on
Thursday, December 10th, from 5:30 - 7:30 at Jean Palmer's home. (Thank you, Jean!) This is a members-only event; please RSVP directly to Jean if you're planning to attend

Sheila Doran Benyon and her husband, Alex Prihoda, for hosting our previous three Holiday parties. Sheila will be visiting family in Tasmania and won't be joining us for this year's celebration. Bon voyage, Sheila and Alex!

THE PRIVILEGE OF AGING
What are the keys to successful aging?
In this stimulating talk, local author Pat Shapiro will draw on the lives of the twelve women from the ages of 76 to 102 featured in her latest book The Privilege of Aging
and share what she learned from interviewing them.
Her talk will cover the secrets to the
women's longevity and their vitality as well as a new vision of aging that can change how we all view the years ahead.
Pat Shapiro is an award-winning author who has written or co-authored nine nonfiction books. She specializes in writing and speaking on the issues of women at mid-life and older. She has a master's in social work and draws on that training to understand the human condition, particularly women's development. Pat is also a writing coach and yoga instructor.

WOMEN IN TRANSITION
WORKSHOP:
A Positive Experience!
Jean Palmer, Linda Mickle and
Sue Burgess
presented the
Women in Transition workshop for ten women (seven members and three non-members) at Montezuma Lodge on October 17. The workshop provided an overview of the stages of transition and allowed ample time for participants to share their experiences. The workshop concluded with an action planning exercise.
The evaluations were positive and one woman said "Thank you! Wonderful experience; highly recommend it! Well worth my time."
Jean was one of the developers of the workshop and she trained Sue and Linda as facilitators. They plan to offer the class again in the spring and fall of 2016.
Plans are also underway for participants who would like to continue meeting for support on their action plans. Please contact Sue,

The Women in Transition workshop is open to both members and non-members and one woman joined TTN after the workshop. We can offer the class to groups as large as thirty, so if you enjoyed the workshop, please tell your friends!
