The April Del Ray Business Association (DRBA) monthly lunch will feature an update on What's New in Eco-Alexandria (Mon. 4/21 at 11:30 AM, Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave., more information).    

 

The Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association (ACVA) will hold their regular Board of Visitors meeting (Mon. 4/21, 5:00 PM, ACVA Offices, 625 N. Washington St, Suite 400).  

 

The City Council will hold two of their final budget work sessions on the City Manager's budget recommendations.  This week's sessions will focus on the preliminary Add/Delete and a discussion with the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee (BFAAC) and review of the Business Tax Reform Work Group Recommendations (Mon. 4/21 at 6:30 PM, City Hall, Council Workroom and Thurs. 4/24 at 6:00 PM, City Hall, Sister Cities Meeting Room).

 

The West End Business Association (WEBA) will host an educational lunch, featuring Richard Stone, LifeTime Companies, titled "Clarifying the Haze of Health Care Reform" (Thurs. 4/22, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, Fratelli Restaurant, 410 S. Van Dorn St., registration requested).

 

The City Council will hold a work session on the discussion and feasibility of Food Trucks followed by their second legislative meeting of the month where items of interest include an Oral Update on the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Study (Tues. 4/22 at 5:30 and 7:00 PM, respectively, City Hall, Council Workroom and Council Chambers).  Between these two meeting, Mayor Bill Euille will give his annual State of the City Addresswhere he will outline the City's accomplishments and future challenges (6:45 PM in the Council Chambers).

 

The 2014 Annual Meeting for Old Town Business & Professional Association is scheduled to be held this week, featuring election of new officers (Tues. 4/22, 5:30 PM, The Art League Gallery, 105 S. Union St).

 

The City will host a joint Meeting of the Arlandria Action Plan Advisory Group and the Four Mile Run (4MR) Joint Task Force.  The groups will receive updates on 4MR Restoration Demonstration Project, 4MR Park Large Park Plan in connection with Mt. Vernon Village Center DSUP (MVVC), private development projects, and other City project updates including pedestrian and infrastructure Improvements and affordable housing (Weds. 4/23, 7:00 PM, Four Mile Run Park Community Building, 4109 Mt. Vernon Ave).

 

The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership Board of Directors will hold their regular Board meeting (Thurs. 3/24 at 8:00 AM, 625 N. Washington Street, Suite 400).
