Petaluma Readers Theater presents A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote with A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas. An ensemble of local readers, writers and actors perform this poignant auto- biographical story which beautifully describes a period in the lives of the seven-year-old narrator and an elderly woman, his cousin and best friend. A benefit for Petaluma Arts Center. Dec. 11th at 7:30pm
 
Light Up a Life. Hospice of Petaluma hosts this annual community celebration of remembrance on Dec. 4th. In a short tree lighting ceremony, the three evergreen trees in Center Park are illuminated by thousands of lights to symbolize the lives, hopes and dreams of the community.

Theater Square Tree Lighting Festival is set for December 5th from 6-8pm. Enjoy music by Twice as Good, Santa Claus, photo booth, live snowfall, elves, and more!

Enjoy a self-guided tour of beautifully decorated homes and businesses. Maps available at the Petaluma Visitors Center and electronically by Dec. 1st.

 

 

Here in Petaluma there is plenty to celebrate. Join us downtown to share in the holiday season with an abundance of festivities for all!

Holiday Open House &
Lighted Boat Parade
December 5th Open House is from 11:00pm to 5:00pm then the Lighted Boat Parade begins at 6:30pm  
The Petaluma Downtown Association will host its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday December 5 th! Join us from 11-5pm as Petaluma Merchants open their doors to Christmas merriment, entertainment & great shopping. Grab a glass of hot apple cider as you enjoy a free horse and carriage ride sponsored by Bradley Real Estate. Ride through town with your sweetheart or let the kids tag along to share in the fun with balloon art and face painting they are sure to have a jolly good time. After enjoying the day downtown look to the Petaluma River for a flotilla of decorated boats that will illuminate the night. Individual boaters and the local yacht clubs join in the Petaluma Lighted Boat Parade every year. Following the Lighted Boat Parade, visitors and local residents mingle in Historic Downtown, gathering to dine,  drink hot chocolate, snack and enjoy the remainder of the evening entertaining themselves at the many nearby restaurants & clubs.

New Years in Petaluma 
The Big Easy - Dec. 31st 6:00pm 
Stop by The Big Easy for a full dinner served from 6:00pm-8:30pm with live entertainment. Then starting at 9:00pm Royal Jelly Jive will put on a show. Tickets are $40.00 and your ticket will get you $5.00 Champagne all night! Reservations are highly recommended.   

New Year Eve Gala Concert - Dec. 31st 7:00pm-9:00pm
On December 31st the Petaluma Museum will host a fest ive evening with Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, preformed by string players from the San Francisco Symphony and Elizabeth Walter, pianist. An annual event sponsored by Sky Hill Cultural Alliance at the Petaluma Historical Library & Museum on 20 Fourth Street. Located in the "Carnegie Hall" the night begins at 7:00pm wrapping up at 9:00pm. Reservations are $40.00 while balcony seating (with elite beverage service) costs $70.00, both tickets include complementary cheese and wine.   
 
"A Night in Vienna" - Dec. 31st 9:00pm-1:00am
At Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Ave. A magical night in Vienna! Buffet style gourmet dinner with many traditional Viennese dishes & desserts. Enjoy listening and dancing to Strauss Waltzes with live orchestra 'til midnight! Fine wines and Champagne toast to celebrate the New Year in style! The evening kicks off at 9:00pm ending at 1:00am. Tickets cost $125.00 and benefit the Sky Hill Cultural Alliance bringing high quality classical music to our community.  
 
New Years Eve Bash with Brothers Comatose
Plus Frankie Boots & the County Line - Dec. 31st 9:00pm 
Ring in the New Year with and Frankie Boots & the Country Line. Join in and start your rockin' New Years at the McNears Mystic Theater. Doors open at 8 while festivities kick off at 9:00pm on December 31st. Tickets are on sale online for $31.00, this is a 21 and up ONLY event.

Wine-Maker New Years Eve Party - Food, Wine, and Live Jazz! - December 31st 8-12pm
Why not kick start the new year with the stupendous, award winning, and local Bistro 100. Enjoy live jazz a nd a 6 course meal including Hors D'oeuvres and champagne at the do or. Check out their site for the full spread as well as to purchase tickets.
