Spartanburg Soaring! Kite Exhibit
Chuck Holmes kite SAM exhibit
Spartanburg Soaring! is in full swing, celebrating everything that's special about Spartanburg, building civic pride with active play, and promoting cultural curiosity. The catalyst for the community-wide movement is the kite exhibit that is now open to the public.

Chuck Holmes, Spartanburg resident and two-time national award winner, is the enthusiast who owns the kites. Almost half of them are handmade by Holmes himself, whereas the others have been collected over time by nationally acclaimed kite makers or crafted by his daughters.

The kites are all over the facility -- hanging from the ceiling, flying off the walls.

Click here to hear Chuck Holmes speak about the exhibit on Carolina Now, or click here to read about his collection in the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
